Sequined Gold

Accents or full-on embellishments of gold are always perfect to have in your wardrobe for the holiday season giving an added taste of luxury and pizazz. I got this blouse two years ago at Lane Bryant and I still have yet to find a special occasion to wear it to. With the blouse being short sleeved and the weather being more consistently chillier here in NC, I loved being able to pair it up with this comfy sweater cardigan. The gold clutch was a recent x-mas gift I got from my friend Neema.  What gold statement pieces do you guys love this time around?

Back To Basics

Ive been quite busy these past few months with focusing on school and my design class. Being on Christmas break with more time now makes me eager to start back blogging again. Especially with some great new thrifting pieces Ive been accumulating lately

I find myself every year during fall slowing making my way back to wearing darker color tones of auburn, greens, and browns the most. Relaxed-fits and layering will always be my go-to attributes for the fall. Which makes me love this hand-me-down drapery lapel blazer even more. What color schemes and silhouettes do you guys find yourself getting into this season?

Bagging Fall

Weather has definitely been bi-polar here in North Carolina, humid one day and chilly and cloudy the next.  Slowly, but surely though fall weather will began to set in and I can not wait for the leaves to change colors ! Here are some of my inspirations for you guys transitioning into the new season. I found some great accessories from One Stop Plus and Cheri Trendy and fab clothing from GoJane and Rainbows. What trends will you be bagging this fall?

What To Wear: College Style

Its crazy to think how fast this summer has flown knowing I leave in a few days for college. And I still have some packing to get done.  However, I have came up with some different style ideas great for wearing around campus before this warm summer season is over. Which college fit would you wear?

Teal & Clutch

Two rainy weekends in a row and I happily & lazily enjoyed both of them.  Affording books, preparing to pack, and getting ready to set foot back on campus has been mostly on my mind lately. This peplum dress I purchased a few months ago is one of my favorites to wear to church.  I love the simplicity of the solid teal color and silver shoulder beading. Ive had this clutch for a couple of years now and still continue to get a lot of compliments on it. I bagged it at a discount store in my hometown.  What items have you guys shopped for less this summer?

Hair Care: Tresemme Heat Protectant Spray

Being natural, I've grown gradually to not like putting a lot of heat in my hair such as flat irons other than for touch-ups once every couple of weeks. Like myself and others in the natural movement know that applying moisture to hair is an absolute must. (LITERALLY CRUCIAL!) When ceasing from the use of perms, relaxers, and other detrimental products to the hair, our hair becomes naturally dry.  Thus becoming very susceptible to split ends and breakage. In which too much heat can cause even more damage.

Its been 2yrs. and 5 months now since I gave up relaxers within my first year of college. Although its been a long journey of not only rediscovering my hair but definitely HUGE trials and errors. Though I don't regret it at all.  Since transitioning, I have became accustomed to different hair products along the way.

One product my college friend help me to discover earlier this year is Tresemme Heat Protection Spray. It helps to shield hair from heat styling when applying flat irons, hairdryers, etc. and creates shine.  Note: Personally, I do not consider this to be a natural and/or organic hair product due to some ingredients.  Decide what ingredients may or may not work for your hair when deciding to purchase.

How I use it:
 - Wash my hair  - While still damp, prep my hair with  dime-size amounts of Shea Moisture leave-in conditioner - Put my hair in sections & spray Tresemme from root to ends  - Apply my flat iron (hair temp: about 15-20 )

For me, it really does a great job of keeping my hair frizz free and incredibly smooth along with a great smell.  Not as much shine as I would hope for though due to me not being a professional hairstylist - by any means! However I still love my hair's end result from this product.

Have you ever used Tresemme products? If not, what products do you use for heat protection?
