With exams, projects, and holding down a job I am so happy to be out for the summer! And despite some up and downs Ive been facing this year, thankfully God blessed me to get through ALL of it while allowing me to pass another semester of classes. (Praise Him ^_^) I bought this dress at Roses discount store a few months ago. Although Roses has a lower-end quality in clothing you can still find nice trendy outfits without breaking the bank. I quickly fell in love with the gold plated neckline. Ive been longing for a nice comfortable fitted sheath dress and this is so simple yet classic. I don't really have any other all white ensembles in my wardrobe so this definitely gives me an excuse to shop for more. What do you guys have planned for the summer?

Hair Care: Tresemme Heat Protectant Spray
Being natural, I've grown gradually to not like putting a lot of heat in my hair such as flat irons other than for touch-ups once every couple of weeks. Like myself and
others in the natural movement know that applying moisture to hair is an
absolute must. (LITERALLY CRUCIAL!) When ceasing from the use of perms,
relaxers, and other detrimental products to the hair, our hair becomes
naturally dry. Thus becoming very susceptible to split ends and
breakage. In which too much heat can cause even more damage.
Its been 2yrs. and 5 months now since I gave up relaxers within my first year of college. Although its been a long journey of not only rediscovering my hair but definitely HUGE trials and errors. Though I don't regret it at all. Since transitioning, I have became accustomed to different hair products along the way.

One product my college friend help me to discover earlier this year is Tresemme Heat Protection Spray. It helps to shield hair from heat styling when applying flat irons, hairdryers, etc. and creates shine. Note: Personally, I do not consider this to be a natural and/or organic hair product due to some ingredients. Decide what ingredients may or may not work for your hair when deciding to purchase.
How I use it:
- Wash my hair - While still damp, prep my hair with dime-size amounts of Shea Moisture leave-in conditioner - Put my hair in sections & spray Tresemme from root to ends - Apply my flat iron (hair temp: about 15-20 )For me, it really does a great job of keeping my hair frizz free and incredibly smooth along with a great smell. Not as much shine as I would hope for though due to me not being a professional hairstylist - by any means! However I still love my hair's end result from this product.
Have you ever used Tresemme products? If not, what products do you use for heat protection?

Green Kimchi
This hi-low dress is actually something I re-fell in love with this past Sunday wearing it to church. It was the first time I've EVER worn it since I bought it last summer. I haven't been purchasing anything new lately, so Im glad I still had it in my closet. My jewelery Ive had since my high school prom. Still in good condition, I always love being able to reuse my older pieces to create a newer look. With the black and silver accents, I thought my Kimchi Blue (on sale last year at Urbanoutfitters) shoes would be a great touch ! Do you have anything in your closet you have yet to wear?

Cargo Chic
These cargo pants I got a couple of years back when I use to work at Lane Bryant. Since then they have gotten a lot roomy then I remembered but I like the relaxed and casual chic look it gives.

For The People Who Never Go Crazy
"I feel bad for the people who never go crazy." -Anonymous
My semester of college starts this week and I am more than ready to reunite with my friends. Getting reacquainted with homework however, that's a different story... My objectives this weekend is packing and trying to finish my self given project of making a skirt for my mom. For my look, I think this might be one of my favorite shoots to date. I felt so creatively free with going a little print happy with pairing outfit pieces. I bought the cardigan (similar here), geo crop top (plus size here), and jogger pants (plus similar here) from Rainbows about two weeks ago while Christmas shopping with my mom. This is definitely a great place to shop for some of the latest fashion trends at low-end prices and brands. With my money mostly going to books and sewing supplies, this helps me to get the fashionable looks I want with reasonable prices I can actually afford. Plato's Closet is also a great place to shop, especially for gently used name brand clothing at cheaper prices, which you can also swap your brand name clothing and accessories for cash. This is where I bagged my ankle combat boots. What high fashion trends do you find price alternatives for?

Owls & Bricks
A week ago for my visual merchandising class I had a visual display assignment with my partner Jen at Ivy & Leo retail store. Majority of the time on campus I'm usually looking like a comfortable college bum while going to my classes. But since I was stepping off campus for this assignment I decided to take the effort to actually look nice that day with this ensemble. Cute and stretchy were my goals with this look while keeping in mind I will be manipulating heavy mannequins and other merchandise around the store. It was somewhat of a sunny but cool day so I put on my favorite cardigan to not to air out too much.
The flowiness and the uneven balance is what attracts me to fishtails tops other than the various colors they come in. These shorts I paired it with are LOVE to me! They are made of a soft spandex and elastic side panel material that shapes around my stomach and bottom half perfectly. Although its the month of October, I think I can still get some more wears out of this outfit due to all of this 80-degree weather we have been having here in North Carolina. Yet I find myself rooting for some cold weather to take its effect. I cant wait to dust off my winter clothes so I can experiment a little with some layering !
